How to set your Default Rates & Markup/Margin

NextMinute allows you to set default labour rates and markup or margin percentages for your materials, disbursements, and other charges. This helps standardise your pricing and ensures consistency when adding charges across jobs. Setting a default labour rate can also simplify timesheet entry for your team.

Step 1: Navigate to Settings

  1. Go to Admin.
  2. Select the Settings tab.

Step 2: Set default Markup or Margin

  1. Tick the boxes next to:
    • Materials
    • Disbursements
    • Other
  2. Choose whether you want to apply Markup or Margin from the dropdown.
  3. Enter the percentage (%) you want to apply to each category.

Step 3: Set a default hourly labour rate

  1. Locate the Default Hourly Labour Rate section.
  2. Choose one of the following:
    • Select an existing labour rate, or
    • Create a custom labour rate
  3. Click Save.

💡 Setting a default labour rate means users won’t need to manually select their name when entering timesheets.
