How to Move a Deposit and Resync an Invoice to Xero

This article explains practical steps to resolve common issues when preparing and syncing invoices to Xero, including how to move a deposit from one quote to another and ensure the correct invoice is synced.

    When to use these steps

    • You need to update an already-synced invoice 

    Step-by-step: Updating the existing synced invoice and re-syncing it

    1. Open the invoice that has already been synced.
    2. Click More → Mark as not Synced.
    3. This will then take the invoice out of read-only and you'll be able to edit it. Make any changes that you'd like. 
    4. Then click on Sync with Xero to re-sync the invoice with the new changes.
    5. This will create a new invoice in Xero with a new invoice number
    6. You will also want to delete the original invoice in Xero to ensure there isn't a double up.
